PeopleSoft Project News - July 20, 2009
Admissions no longer has to debate the merits of converting data prior to their go-live date in October. The Project Manager says there is not enough time and their conversion must take place at a later date.
Hardware will be installed this week so that servers will be available for StarRez, the housing software, and Image Now, the document imaging application, and so that storage for those applications and others is readily available. Both StarRez and Image Now will utilize virtualized hardware under VMware.

PeopleSoft Project News - July 13, 2009
Admissions is debating the importance of converting applications from the current Plus system to PeopleSoft before their Fall, 2009, go live date. Processes could be more efficient with all of the data in one place, namely PeopleSoft, but time is running short, so alternatives are under review. The applications could be converted later rather than sooner.
ITS has scheduled a hardware installation for the week of July 20. As soon as new hardware is in place, both StarRez, the housing application, and Image Now, the document imaging system, will be installed. StarRez and Image Now consultants will be on site in Kearney during the week of August 3.
Training for WebFocus, the reporting tool selected for the PeopleSoft project, is also scheduled for the week of August 3.
There is no Portal news this week. Paul Swenson, our UNK Portal guy, is out of the office for three weeks of National Guard training/duty. We look forward to his return—and he’s only been gone a week!

PeopleSoft Project News - July 6, 2009
The Undergraduate Admissions Office is working on configuration of the online admissions application.
The Campus Portal is called MyBLUE. A branding scheme for MyBLUE has been completed. The design has been approved and implemented in a development environment. Completion of this task will ensure that when MyBLUE goes live for applicants in September it will have the UNK look.
For StarRez, the housing software, residence hall and room data is being compiled and an on-campus visit for set-up and training will be scheduled in late July or early August. The hardware should be installed by July 24.
