The StarRez team, including representatives from Residential & Greek Life, ITS, Student Accounts, Student Records and Admissions, have been meeting regularly with StarRez, the CCI consultant, and the Nebraska State College campus representatives to plan the interfaces between StarRez and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
Testing of Bundle 15 is nearing the finish.
Premier, the group hired to assist with conversion of data to PeopleSoft, is working with transfer data through Friday, December 18.
Student Records, Student Financials and Financial Aid continue their deployment efforts.

Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and International Admissions are admitted students into PeopleSoft for the Fall, 2010, term.
Undergraduate Admissions, with help from the ITS technical staff, is working on the interface between PeopleSoft and EMAS.
Financial Aid is using PeopleSoft to work with the students newly admitted for Fall,2010.
Student Records is building the Fall, 2010, class schedule in PeopleSoft.
Student Records, with help from the ITS technical staff, is converting “cpp” data, which stands for career-program-plan and identifies academic programs/majors.

Graduate Admissions developed a document imaging and workflow application to integrate with their application process. That, too, is live.
Financial Aid has live functionality for Fall 2010 scholarships. (The Financial Aid go-live process will be a phased-in approach.)
Student Financials and Student Records are working on their implementations. Student Records has critical dates for creating a class schedule and converting data, with registration for Fall, 2010, scheduled in March, 2010. Student Financials plans to go live in May, 2010.

Admissions has discovered two major problems. There is a 30-45 minute delay in establishing a role for a new applicant. This is not an acceptable time frame for completing an application. Also, there are times when the application process does not communicate correctly with our payment software. Both issues are under review.
Financial Aid is planning to go live with limited functionality within a week.

Undergraduate Admissions is planning the roll out of the online application for admission for Fall 2010 applicants on September 14.
The MyBlue Portal will go live on September 14 for students applying for admission.
Admissions Offices and the ITS Helpdesk are attending training for resetting passwords and answering authentication/security questions.
Financial Aid will go live the first week in October to begin awarding Freshman Scholarships. The final stages of testing are in progress, security is being finalized, and queries will be moved to the production environment.

Admissions will be testing the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions links in the MyBlue portal to prepare for the first go-live on September 14.
A final planning meeting for the conversion of biographical/demographic data is scheduled for Monday, August 10. The go-live date is August 18.
WebFocus training is offered again this week in Lincoln. Two UNK staff are attending, so five people will be as up-to-speed as possible with this new tool.
As of Monday, August 10, the CedarCrestone consultants have transitioned end-user support for application security issues to the Campus Security Coordinators. For UNK, that’s Mitch O’Neill.

Admissions has two additional tasks on their to-do list this week. They have one week to complete their security definitions and they must brief the ITS Helpdesk on possible on-line application for admission issues to they can prepare to answer questions from applicants.
Large scale testing took place for the bio/demo conversion data. This involved the entire project team.

PeopleSoft Project News - July 20, 2009
Admissions no longer has to debate the merits of converting data prior to their go-live date in October. The Project Manager says there is not enough time and their conversion must take place at a later date.
Hardware will be installed this week so that servers will be available for StarRez, the housing software, and Image Now, the document imaging application, and so that storage for those applications and others is readily available. Both StarRez and Image Now will utilize virtualized hardware under VMware.

PeopleSoft Project News - July 13, 2009
Admissions is debating the importance of converting applications from the current Plus system to PeopleSoft before their Fall, 2009, go live date. Processes could be more efficient with all of the data in one place, namely PeopleSoft, but time is running short, so alternatives are under review. The applications could be converted later rather than sooner.
ITS has scheduled a hardware installation for the week of July 20. As soon as new hardware is in place, both StarRez, the housing application, and Image Now, the document imaging system, will be installed. StarRez and Image Now consultants will be on site in Kearney during the week of August 3.
Training for WebFocus, the reporting tool selected for the PeopleSoft project, is also scheduled for the week of August 3.
There is no Portal news this week. Paul Swenson, our UNK Portal guy, is out of the office for three weeks of National Guard training/duty. We look forward to his return—and he’s only been gone a week!

PeopleSoft Project News - July 6, 2009
The Undergraduate Admissions Office is working on configuration of the online admissions application.
The Campus Portal is called MyBLUE. A branding scheme for MyBLUE has been completed. The design has been approved and implemented in a development environment. Completion of this task will ensure that when MyBLUE goes live for applicants in September it will have the UNK look.
For StarRez, the housing software, residence hall and room data is being compiled and an on-campus visit for set-up and training will be scheduled in late July or early August. The hardware should be installed by July 24.
